Dr. Tracy Wood
Owner and Medical Director
A 1994 WSU veterinary graduate, Dr. Wood started her career as a mixed animal (cat, dog, horses, cattle) vet in north Idaho.

Her broad range of experience in both large and small animal medicine has given her a definite edge and well roundedness in her diagnostic and surgical skills. She has been called by her piers a "lifer" and "the Sally Fields" of veterinary medicine because of her natural likeability and a true love for what she does. Dr. Wood purchased the Animal Hospital of Renton from Dr. Steve Swaim in November 2000, and has steadily progressed the medical protocols of AHCC into what is now the most up to date, modern, common sense approach to veterinary medicine available. In her off time she enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, cooking, and reading.

Dr. Stacy Davidson
Dr. Davidson graduated from Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and has been practicing in Des Moines Washington until joining the AHCC team in March 09.

Becoming a veterinarian is all she ever wanted to be. Stacy is passionate about her career and enjoys the special bonds she forms with owners and their pets. Surgery and oncology are two aspects of veterinary medicine that she has special interests in. She has a boxer named Penny, a papillon named Dewey as well as two cats, Biscuit and Cletus. In her free time she enjoys painting, running and spending time with her pets.

Dr. Tina Giesbers
Has been with AHCC since October of 2006.

She completed her undergraduate work at Oregon state university where she majored in microbiology, from there she attended and graduated from WSU veterinary school in 1981. Dr. Giesbers has worked in Vancouver WA and around the greater Seattle area for many years before joining the team at AHCC. When she is not at work she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Dr. Ron Barringham
Graduated from WSU in 2008 and just completed a surgical internship in 2009. Dr. Barringham will be performing many of our specialty surgeries such as: (Cruciate repair, orthopedics, arthroscopy, luxating patella surgeries, etc) Dr. Barringham enjoys outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, golf, wood working, carpentry, & boating. His favorite animals are hedgehogs, dogs, & hairless rats. What he likes the most about the veterinary field is, working with people and their pets closely followed by the challenges of medical practice & problem solving.

Dr. Ferguson DVM DABVP- Certified in Avian Practice
Animal Health Care Center is pleased to announce the addition of avian and other exotic pet veterinary services. Dr. Bridget Ferguson, Diplomate, American Board of Veterinary Practitioners Certified in Avian Practice, will be available for referrals and consultations.

Dr. Ferguson graduated from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 1997 and became Board certified in Avian Practice in 2003. In the past 12 years, Dr. Ferguson has treated a wide variety of birds, reptiles, rabbits, hedgehogs, rodents, ferrets, and other unusual pets in California and Washington. Among other activities, she has enjoyed volunteering with several rescue groups for these non-traditional pets as well as serving on the board of directors for Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue over the last seven years.

In addition, she has enjoyed consulting with local veterinarians as well as local government organizations for the betterment of native and nonnative wildlife. Dr. Ferguson looks forward to assisting you in the treatment of avian and other exotic pet cases.

Kevin Collins
General Manager
Has been with the team since November 15th 2000.

He was instrumental in the creation of AHCC from the former Animal Hospital of Renton. He was the chief organizer, planner and coordinator that ultimately resulted in the construction of the new facility. Kevin manages all aspects of the inner workings of AHCC. In his spare time he enjoys wood working and carpentry, weight lifting, reading books on philosophy and quantum mechanics as well as spending time with his wife and kids.

Erin Lowry LVT (Licenses Vet Tech)
Assistant Manager/Client Services Manager
Erin started out with an eye for business and fashion; she graduated from Tyler Texas Commercial College w/major in business and a minor in fashion.

Erin enjoyed a career as a manager, buyer for major department stores. She got a change of heart due to her desire to work with animals and considers herself to be the original geek – preferring to look into a microscope or play with her chemistry set. She quit her job and we back to college to become a veterinary technician. Erin worked at the Tukwilla Banfield Pet Hospital for 12 years as their hospital director. She loves to garden, paint and play video games. One of her other passions is teaching others and has been a teacher at PIMA Medical Institute (Vet Tech program) for the last three years. We are very lucky to have Erin as part of our team she brings many years of stability & experience to AHCC.

Kristine Peterson
Receptionist & Assistant Pet Nurse
Kristine has had a love for pets her entire life.

She has a cat Meowzers that she rescued has had dogs, fish and hand raised a chicken named Sunshine. Kristine loves going to festivals, listening to music, watching movies & spending time with her family and friends.

Rachel Martin
Receptionist
Rachael worked at Debbie’s grooming salon prior to working at AHCC.

She has two cats a manx mix and a tortoiseshell as well as a Rottweiler mix dog. She likes spending time with friends and family. Playing cards, x-box and crafting. In the summer she enjoys doing outdoor activities like fishing, camping and floating the river.

Melinda Wicks
Technician
Melinda has been with AHCC the second longest, since Aug. 1995.

In addition to her regular duties, Melinda takes care of all the details that help AHCC run better behind the scenes. She makes all the go home materials and post surgery bandanna's for clients and their pets. Melinda's favorite dog breed is Husky, she loves old cars particularly the Mustang. She enjoys creating original sculpture pieces with her partner Steve when she is not at work.

Angelica
Assistant Pet Nurse
Angelica graduated from the PIMA assistant program and is now enrolled in the NEW PIMA Tech program here in Renton. She has a Yorkie and some fish, she likes going to movies and walking her dog.

Alicia
Pet Nurse
Alicia has an Associates degree in Science and a Bachelors degree in Biology , she is currently enrolled in a Veterinary Technician Program. Alicia enjoys horseback riding, reading & believe it or not,.. school work. She has two cats an Italian Greyhound & a horse. Her favorite books are the sword of truth series and she likes the color green. Alicia enjoys both the medical aspects of veterinary medicine as well as client relations and education.

Moriah
Pet Nurse
Moriah is currently enrolled in a Veterinary Technician program and her special interests are in patient recovery. Life stages & surgery. Moriah enjoys traveling, reading, watching movies & she is a diehard vegetarian. When Moriah isn’t doing any of those things you’ll find her in the gym training for half marathons. Her favorite color is red and she loves to read romance & thriller novels. Moria has three dogs- Angst, Echo, & Vita and two cats- Blackie & Whitie. What she likes the most about the veterinary field is that she gets to learn something new everyday.

Karley
Front Desk / Assistant Pet Nurse
Karley attended PIMA Medical institute and is striving to be an LVT someday. Her favorite activities are reading, writing, & playing soccer. She enjoys traveling & spending time with her friends and family. Karley describes herself as a “total book worm” and her favorite color is green. What Karley likes the most about working in the veterinary field is watching a sick pet get well from our efforts. She has two beagles Abby & Aurora.

Cait
Has been with AHCC since 2009. She plans to attend college to study physical fitness and nutrition. Her interests include bull riding, sky diving, horses and cooking. She is involved in 4H, Tennis, and a local drama group. Kate enjoys working in the veterinary field because she can learn many things that could apply to her future educational & career goals.

Joan
Has spent 18 years in the veterinary field with several years of experience in wildlife rehab. She enjoys boating, water skiing, photography, and spending quality time with her two boys. Her favorite books are; Law of Attraction, and The Power of Now. Joan enjoys seeing the bond that people have with their pets and loves to participate in their care.

April
Is currently in the technician program at PIMA medical institute. Her interests are; Working with disabled children and their families, wildlife rehabilitation, & companion animal care. She loves the outdoors camping, hiking, & swimming. She also enjoys her artistic side painting, drawing & photography. Aprils enjoys working in the veterinary field because she knows she’s making a positive impact in the lives of the pets that she helps care for.

Heather

Has been with AHCC since early 2010, she comes to us with much experience in the veterinary field, with a strong interest in emergency and dentistry. Heather says, "working at AHCC is challenging and no two days are the same." In her off time she enjoys camping, reading, and spending time with her friends, family and pets.

Hobbie Bobbit
AHCC Guard Cat
Bobbit is a Tortoise shell Manx cat with character traits that rival the cartoon cat Garfield.

She has been with us since May 2005 when our practice manager found her wandering the streets of Seattle late at night. Clearly a stray as she was malnourished and full of fleas. We took her in, cleaned her up, spayed and vaccinated her and she's been here ever since. Bobbit enjoys redecorating her already posh environment; she loves jazz music, typing on any available computer, head butting, and pleasure reading. For exercise Bobbit loves to play with other pets here in the facility, particularly puppies.
